I have been a dedicated legal advocate for over 24 years. I gained litigation experience helping families throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, California with guardianships, conservatorships, and more. I established Green Rose Law Offices to help families with estate planning with a focus on Special Needs Trusts. This work is deeply personal to me, not only as an attorney, but as a parent of a special needs child. I understand the challenges of having a child that has different developmental stages in life.

I tailor each special needs trust (SNT) to the needs of their family and work with parents or legal guardians to make sure the unique needs of their child are met. I also work with parents of special needs adult children to file for and obtain a conservatorship over their adult children when needed. This is a limited conservatorship under the Lanterman Act and it’s important to work with the Regional Center and understand the IEP documents from the school district.

Parents of special needs children often worry about their child’s future. A special needs trust (SNT) helps provide security and independence by protecting an individual’s eligibility for important government benefits while setting aside funds for their loved one’s needs. The SNT assets can only be used for certain expenses that supplement the beneficiary’s benefits. There are allowed and disallowed categories of expenses that the SNT can pay for and it’s extremely important to make sure the assets pay for “supplemental benefits.”

My purpose is to educate my clients on the different type of trusts and estate plans available and guide them to set up the plans that truly meet their spouse’s and beneficiaries’ needs while minimizing exposure to taxes and creditors.

I also work with individuals that only need a Living Will and Trust and the associated Power of Attorney and Healthcare Directives. They don’t need to be complicated and cost more. I want them to feel just as supported and taken care of as the more complicated Wills and Estate Plans. Individuals still need to plan for end of life decisions and make sure that their assets can be given to their loved ones and avoid Probate by having a Living Will and Trust.
